One of our students has been participating in an online course offered by Stanford University. Using a computer for distance learning, she has been studying about the history and relations between the U.S.A. and Japan, and discussing many topics with other students across the country and the world!
For her final project, she had to write a report and make a presentation about a topic of her choice. She is very interested in film making and the film industry, so she researched about the differences between movies from the U.S.A. and Japan. She found many good points, such as the amounts of money used for making the films, the cultural challenges in translating languages, and the popularity of certain actors around the world.
It was a great presentation, and we learned a lot about how movies are made and watched in different cultures!
