Our 2nd year global class organized a Christmas party for all the 2nd year students at Kaishi! About 80 students and teachers gathered in the school library and we enjoyed 6 events.
First we played a quiz game about Santa Claus and Christmas traditions. Do you know how many reindeer pull Santa’s sleigh? Where was the very first Christmas tree? We also learned a little about Christmas markets in Germany, where all the traditional ornaments and foods are hand-made.
After the quiz we decorated cookies using chocolate pens. Then the students wrote Christmas messages on paper ornaments and hung them on our tree. After that we used graham crackers, powdered sugar, and candies to build cookie houses. They were not easy to make, but the students made some beautiful houses! There was also a bingo game to win a few presents.
Finally, everyone had a cup of hot chocolate (with marshmallows!) and we watched The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
